Bristol-Meyers Squibb is a major pharmaceutical company with employees in offices, research and development labs, manufacturing plants and distribution facilities located in almost every country around the world.

The company approached us because some of its international researchers, mostly from China, needed help with their technical- writing skills. While these employees' other job skills were excellent, their required research reports did not meet professional (often, comprehensible) standards. Grammar, spelling, punctuation, documentation, referencing, indexing, formatting - all needed significant improvement.

Further, the training was needed on-site at their main New Jersey facility and tailored to their employees' available schedule.

English League custom-developed a technical-writing syllabus specifically for Bristol-Meyers Squibb scientists and researchers. We prioritized the technical-writing elements most relevant to our students, addressing each one of their weakest points in turn. Tailored progress tests were incorporated into the syllabus; results demonstrated clear improvement. Finally, training was provided on-site and the course schedule was adapted to their available study times.
