iPass
is a high-tech company that enables remote
and mobile workers to connect to their corporate
network across wired and wireless providers
in over 150 countries.
iPass
approached us because some of its international
workers, mainly technicians from India and
Pakistan, needed to improve their English
pronunciation skills. While these employees'
technical qualifications and job skills
were excellent, their accents were so strong
that native English-speaking managers, colleagues,
and customers were having difficulty comprehending
their speech.
iPass
needed a customized syllabus that addressed
these technicians' pronunciation issues,specifically
regarding their most frequently used words
and phrases. Further, training had to be
on-site in Redwood City, CA, and the class
schedules adapted to their employees' available
study times. |
