"A
technical document should not only be easy to
read, it should be difficult to misunderstand."
- Ronald Standler
Technical
writing training is for managers, scientists,
technicians, engineers, and programmers who already
have a fair grasp of English but need to improve
their technical writing skills. Whether
for one-on-one or small group training, this course
is adjusted to the trainees' current level of
skill and customized to meet your job-specific
writing needs.
Our
technical writing courses introduce you to some
of the most important aspects of writing in the
world of science, technology, and business. This
is the kind of writing that scientists, nurses,
doctors, computer specialists, government officials,
engineers, and other such people do as a part
of their regular work.
To learn how to write effectively
for the world of work, you'll typically study
common types of reports related to your business,
special format items such as lists and headings,
techniques for putting graphics into reports,
advanced grammar and punctuation, and techniques
for producing professional-looking final copy.
You will discover that you can put what you learn
in this course to immediate use.
This
training is available for native and non-native
English speakers alike -- anyone who feels they
need to improve their technical writing skills
may sign up. Each course is adjusted as best possible
to trainees' needs: a fully customized syllabus
is developed for every technical writing program.
We offer a curriculum (below) from which
participants may select the areas that they find
most useful or relevant. The areas you select
will be your course syllabus. In addition, you
may request that other areas of technical writing
training be incorporated into your course. |
